Two Announcements

1) Happy Easter to all my Plein Air Nashville friends! 

2) May 8, 2010 through May 16, 2010 
The Chestnut Group is sponsoring a Potpourri of classes taught by their members who are teachers at incredibly reduced rates. 
Enrollment has just opened up to ALL Plein Air Painters.  This is a wonderful opportunity to take a course from one of these well-known artists/teachers at a great price.  (Some of these may already be filled.)

May 11 - Claudia Williams and Cynthia Crook - Pastel Basics for Plein Air - 9am-4pm - $50 plus $10 for supplies if you need to use their supplies, separate check please - Traveller's Rest

May 11 - Diane May - Value of Value in Composition - 3pm-9pm (Chip in for pizza during 6-7 lecture or bring your own supper) $50 – Oil, Watercolor, Pastel all welcome – 228 Ensworth Ave., Nashville

May 12 - Roger Dale Brown - EVENING DEMO - From a Plein Air Painting to a Larger Painting - 7pm-9pm - $10 prepaid or $15 at the door - Glen Leven

May 12 - Kim Barrick - Painting Green & Traveling without Toxic Baggage - 9am-4pm - $50- Traveller's Rest.  IF you have ever wanted to try water soluble oils, but weren't sure if you'd like them or didn't want to make the investment until you tried them out and learned more about them, now is your chance. Water soluble oils will be available for your use during this class. You can still use your regular equipment as well as your brushes. AND if you use regular oils and just want to work with Kim for a day, the class is open to those who use traditional oils as well.

May 15 - Erin Jones - Cotton Balls to Cumulonimbus (Taking Clouds to New Heights) - 9am-4:30pm - $50 - Glen Leven

May 16 - Anne Blair Brown - AFTERNOON DEMO – All Blown Up (enlarging a painting from a field reference) - 1pm-3pm - $10 prepaid or $15 at the door- Glen Leven

You can sign up for one or as many workshops as you like. To reserve a spot, you will need to email Rachel to reserve your workshops FIRST at chestnutnews2@comcast.net. , then a check for the full amount needs to be sent to Rachel Blair at: 240 Boxmere Place, Nashville, TN 37215

Direct the logistical questions to Rachel and the supplies list, etc. to the artists, please.

Reservations are accepted on a first come first serve basis, with waiting lists if needed.

Bring your own lunch and chair, especially for the demos!
