Farmers Market - Bicentennial Mall
900 Rosa L. Parks Blvd. (8th Ave., North)
The market is such a wonderfully colorful place on Saturday monrnings. You can find just about anything to paint down there.... fruits, vegetables, flowers, people! If the market is too crowded, there's Bicentennial Mall with fountain or the Bells. And of course, there's a great view of the Capitol.
"Since the early 1800s, local growers have convened downtown to sell their products to the public. What started as a small gathering has evolved into the Nashville Farmer's Market, the largest farmer's market in the Nashville area, and one of our city's best-kept secrets. The indoor/outdoor state-of-the-art facility, located on 8th Avenue and beside the Bicentennial Mall, features a huge selection of locally grown fruit, vegetables, flowers, plants and herbs. There are also several different ethnic restaurants and markets and a flea market every weekend. Festivals, such as May's Spring Fling and July's Tomato Fiesta, are held monthly. As you browse through aisles of produce and other market wares, you'll hear more than 17 different languages and see people from all walks of life. Stop by to shop, eat lunch or just soak in the culture."-- Heather Johnson
Hope to see you tomorrow - come early before it gets hot!!
