Shelby Bottoms Greenway. Directions: from the interstate get off at the Shelby Street exit and go away from the stadium. At the traffic light which should be 5th Ave South, make a right. From this point you will see signs all the way to the Greenway. You will take 5th Ave till it ends and make a left on Davidson. Continue on this street till you reach the Greenway. You will pass a golf course and the Navel Reserve.
A train bridge goes right over the beginning of the Greenway. This could prove to be a very interesting composition. There is a paved trail through the Greenway that follows the river. About .25 mile in, there is an overlook with a view of the river and limestone banks and an old brick tower. About another .25 - .5 mile and there is an observation deck of the bird sanctury - a very colorful field. There are also more trails through the Greenway. There is a parking lot at the Shelby Bottoms Greenway entrance. 7-10am - we will probably be there about 7:15 – 7:30 am. Happy painting, Brenda
